Associate Professor Sadiq Zarrouk is the new Editor-in-Chief of Geothermics, with plans for a New Zealand special issue in 2026.

Geothermal Institute Co-Director and Science Leader Associate Professor Sadiq Zarrouk has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Geothermics, an international journal devoted to the research and development of geothermal energy, in April 2024.

The journal publishes articles dealing with applied geothermal research, exploration techniques and all aspects of utilizing geothermal resources including geotechnical engineering and engineering geology, geochemistry and petrology, geology, renewable energy, sustainability and the environment.

At the recent 46th NZGW, Sadiq announced that Geothermics plans to produce a special issue on New Zealand geothermal research in 2026.
